Bidri Art

 Bidri ware is made from zinc, copper and other non-ferrous metal alloys. A beautiful design is engraved on the casting and carved with pure silver wire, which is then polished with a buffing machine. The casting is then soaked in a solution mixed with Bidar Fort mud.It has special oxidation properties. This causes the zinc alloy to turn a glossy black, with the silver inlay contrasting wonderfully with the black background.
